The Near Southside is defined by the hospital district and the businesses around it. A large share of the vehicles here belong to medical staff working long shifts, which means they sit parked in the same structure or lot for ten or twelve hours at a stretch. From a scheduling perspective that is close to ideal — the car is available for as long as the job needs.

Those same shifts are why people in this area struggle to get detailing done conventionally. Dropping a vehicle at a shop requires a day off, and a twelve-hour shift does not leave time for errands. Most work here happens in hospital and office lots, parking structures and apartment parking. A standard space with perimeter access is enough for interior work and washing, and structures are good summer working environments because of the shade.
